“Pouting Chair” Step Stool

This high back step stool is very practical in the kitchen. Easy to move around without having to bend over to pick it up, it is light but surprisingly very stable. The design was originally brought to the eastern united states by German immigrants in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The nickname “pouting chair” comes from the fact that when not in use, the stool was kept in the same corner where from time to time, kids where sent to calm down and they would sit on it and pout.
